I can see from the Padlet (scroll down the blog to find it!) that a lot of you have been joining me in the daily Joe Wicks work out at 9am. I’ve done the last three and now it’s difficult to walk, let alone lunge! However, Joe Wicks needs to watch out because we have a very talented young fitness broadcaster in the Kingfishers class. Why not have a go at this workout instead?!

Festive fun at Plock Court!
This morning, the Year 2 children enjoyed festive fun and games at Plock Court in Gloucester. The children took part in lots of active challenges including “What’s the time Father Christmas?” and a dressing up relay race! Well done to Oakley for his sportsmanship prize and to Georgia and Jasper for their fabulous hats!
Mountain rescue!
Today at Forest School we were pretending to be lost explorers! We used the signal of 3 bells or whistles to help people find us! We had great fun hiding!

First Forest School of the year!
What a beautiful day to have our first Forest School!!! We recapped on the rules of Forest School and explored the site.

Daily Mile
Every day the children walk or run a mile during the school day to keep fit and active! We are also trying to match the number of miles that Edward Wilson walked to the South Pole! Here we are in action!

Year 2 Forest School – starting 5th November!
In Autumn Term 2 (after the half term break) Year 2 will be starting Forest School. Both classes will be doing Forest School on a Tuesday.
*This means their first session will be on Tuesday 5th November*
All children should come into school wearing their Forest School kit. At this time of year, the weather can be very changeable, so please bear this in mind when your child is getting ready! Please remember (as appropriate):
- Appropriate bag to carry kit– also consider plastic bag for dirty/wet/muddy items
- Spare underwear/socks
- Old clothes/clothes that can get dirty/muddy/wet
- Appropriate footwear (boots/wellies) – feet still need to be completely covered even in warm weather
- Sturdy/waterproof coat
- Other weather appropriate clothing (hats etc.). Layers are best as they can be easily added/removed
- Children should also wear/bring sun cream on sunny days
Please make sure that the children bring their full uniform (remember shoes!) to change into after Forest School.
Please note that on occasion there may be changes to the timetable – we will make every effort to communicate these changes to you in a timely manner.
Thank you for your support,
Mrs Nicholls, Mrs Fisher, Miss Armstrong
Getting Active
Year 2 had a great afternoon in PE. They played lots of different games to raise their heart rates.
They even completed their own warm ups!
