Guess Who – part 2!

In Computing this week we are continuing with our learning about Questioning and using binary trees to sort information. We are using a 2Question database on Purple Mash to answer questions about the avatars we sorted last week and find out their names! Soon we will be ready to create our own!

Here are the classes in action – some great teamwork also happening today!

A real life explorer!

Continuing our topic on ‘People of the Past’ and our learning about a past explorer, Edward Wilson, we watched a video about a present-day explorer – Sir Ranulph Fiennes!

We wrote some questions to Sir Ranluph Fiennes to find out more information, and practised using capital letters and question marks to punctuate our sentences. We put them in an email to him and hope that he will reply!

What questions would you ask Sir Ranulph?

Coding creations

This week we are learning about coding – including what an algorithm is – a set of instructions for a computer program! The Swifts class were coding today – Kingfishers have their turn tomorrow!

The children were solving problems and creating algorithms – can they tell you about it?

We used Purple Mash in our coding today – have a go at home!

What People of the Past do you know?

Soon we will be kicking off our topic ‘People of the Past’ – starting with thinking about what People from the Past we already know.

What People of the Past (can be very recent!) do you know? What did they do or what were they famous for? Add them (with your name) and any information you know to the Padlet below! Mrs Nicholls has already added an example. We will be using our ideas in our topic lessons in the first week.

Thank you!
