Creating art in the style of…

This term in our art lessons we have been looking at how artists represent flowers.

We have looked at paintings by Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Georgia O’Keeffe and Edith Holden. We have made our own pictures using thick paint, watercolours, pastels and photography.

On Friday we looked at pictures by three local artists; Sally Stafford, Yvonne Coomber and Lynn Golden.

Enjoy this slide show of the children in action and look out for more photos of our finished work next week.

Antarctic artists!

This week we have been following in the footsteps of Edward Wilson and creating our own Antarctic landscapes using watercolours! The children enjoyed adding detail such as mountains, icebergs and penguins!

You could create your own landscapes at home using crayons, chalk or paint!

Dougal’s Deep Sea Diary!

Today, we launched our new English topic, Dougal’s Deep Sea Diary. Dougal is an explorer, just like some of the famous people that we will be learning about this term. We looked at illustrations from the book to see if we could find any clues about Dougal – the children wowed us with their observations! For the rest of the day, we had a huge craft extravaganza to create an underwater World for Dougal to explore. What a fabulous, fun and messy day!
